For this auction I have a total of 10 pieces of pottery with 9 of the pieces marked "Japan". The low price is because there are no pairs.
Most are salt or pepper shakers.
The first one is an oil container with a cork. Without the cork it is about 3-3/4-in tall and with the cork 4-1/2-in tall. On the bottom it has "Japan". No chips or cracks that I can see, just some crazing which is pretty normal for older pieces.
The salt/pepper shaker in lustre ware with the windmill is almost 2-3/4-in tall with 9 pouring holes. On the bottom it has "Japan". There is a small chip on the bottom edge and it is missing it's cork.
The pink flamingo salt/pepper shaker also has Japan on the bottom and it is about 3-in long and has 3 pouring holes. The insert in the bottom is plastic. There is no damage that I can see except a very small tight hairline crack right under his face on his neck.
The little yellow bird has his cork and a ridge, where she obviously sat on something and has 3 pouring holes. This is the only piece that is not marked Japan. It measures 1-3/4-in tall and about 3-in long. No damage, chips or cracks, just some light crazing.
The vegetable pod (I think peas) is 3-3/4-in long and 1-1/4-in wide and has 7 pouring holes. Also marked "Japan". On the underneath at the end of the pod, it looks like a flake chip, but it is under the finish, so must have happened in the making.
This wonderful little turtle is not anything, salt or pepper, just cute and marked "Japan" He has a wonderful red bow-tie and is resting in his shell. I see no damage on the turtle.
On the back row:
First is the bird with outstretched wings. It is about 3-in tall and 3-3/4-in long.. Marked "Japan" There are 5 pouring holes. Above the eye on the left side, it appears like a small L shaped crack, but I think since it is shiny over it, it is missing paint.
Next is the Turkey salt/pepper shaker with 5 pouring holes Marked Japan and has it's cork. About 3 inches tall and the tail spread is about 3 inches. I see some crazing but no damage.
Then the book that says pepper above windmills and it has 5 pouring holes. It is marked "Japan" and the cork is inside. it is about 3 inches tall and 2-1/4-in wide. Again like a couple of other pieces what appears to be damage is under glaze and probably done in the making.
Last is the little puppy sitting up and begging. He has a plastic insert on the bottom and also has "Japan". There are 2 pouring holes and he sits 3-1/2-in tall. I Under one of the raised paws, there is a very small surface flake chip. Did not know it was there until I was looking each piece over for the description.
I appreciate and thank you for taking the time to look. Have a wonderful day.
